Evander and Bram were still waiting for Lily to get ready when Hazel arrived. The two men were still giving each other the cold shoulder. Evander desperately wanted to ask Hazel about Noah, but he felt awkward with Bram standing right there.
"Sorry I'm late," Hazel said, coming to a stop near Evander.
"It's fine. Miss Lily is still getting ready inside," Bram answered, his eyes flicking toward Evander, who had turned his face away.
Hazel acknowledged this with a nod.
When Lily called for Bram to come inside, Evander seized the opportunity to approach Hazel.
"What happened?" he asked impatiently. For some reason, he had felt uneasy ever since hearing that Noah was taken to the hospital.
"He fell, and his nose wouldn't stop bleeding. His mother panicked and called me," Hazel explained.
