"Come on," said a man as he reached out his hand after opening the carriage door. He said this to a woman standing beside him. A sweet smile appeared on his face as he waited for her response to his outstretched hand. However, the woman looked back at him with a slightly skeptical and fearful expression – too much sweetness might cause poisoning.
"Um, thank you," she said. She accepted his gesture and quickly got into the carriage, not wanting to linger on physical contact with the man.
After the woman had entered, another man followed her and tried to get into the carriage, but he was immediately stopped.
"What are you doing, Alaric?" Alaric grabbed the back of Adrian's shirt collar and prevented him from entering the carriage. Alaric smiled and spoke with a sweet tone, "Al
