I play with the chain of my necklace, sitting, leaning against the headboard.
Emma is sleeping peacefully next to me, and I let my fingers glide through her light hair, wrapping a strand of it around my finger.
“Are you done playing the asshole?” Ace says as he steps out of the shadows into the moonlight that falls into the windows of the bedroom.
“Depends… Are you done shitting your pants?” I retort with a grin, making him click his tongue.
Putting his hands into his pockets, he looks at Emma shortly before lifting his gaze back to me. “You were too rough. There was no need for all that.”
“Says who?” My grin grows, and he grimaces. “You seem to be the only not-satisfied i***t in the room.”
“Dumbass,” he growls, making me snicker.
