Karissa Olivia Perez is your bookish, anime-loving 19 year old hopeless romantic who lived a simple life and wanted nothing more than to love and be loved deeply in return. Two years ago, while having a vacation in England, she thought she has finally found the love she has been seeking. Apparently not. Returning home with a broken heart, she invested all her time and attention at school and self-improvement. Her life went back to the way it was, or the way it should be as she slowly forgot about the boy she had met during her time in England. But not quite. He haunts her in her dreams with his deep, azure blue eyes, his laugh and his smile. And she was handling her “nightmares” quite well (or so she tells herself). Everything was fine and all, until one rainy Friday night of mid-June, her life as well as her family, turned upside-down, when her late grandfather’s lawyer, a man they’ve seen only once their entire lives, went into their home and revealed another last will of testament entitling them an ownership to a big construction company and a few smaller companies, a big mansion and an extremely huge sum of money. With him was also a letter to everyone in the family. It was on that night, unknowingly, her “nightmare” would haunt her back in person in form of one of her grandfather’s wishes.

A snip of the future
AUGUST 2016 London, Great Britain “Do you really think she’ll still remember you?” A soft, feminine voice asked the young man leaning over the bedroom’s balcony, his well-toned back at her. With a sigh, the man turned around revealing a blonde young man with deep, azure blue eyes framed with blue rectangular glasses, wearing an undone formal attire, his white dress shirt folded up to his elbows, making his toned arms bigger. His eyes were tired, as if he hasn’t slept for days and his pinkish lips are in a tight line. He looks over the source of the question and finds a young lady a few years his age, with the same sandy blond hair and azure blue eyes in her night garments. Recognizing the woman, he then smiles tiredly and leaned back at the balcony’s railings, the warm summer breeze blowing his well styled sandy blond hair. “Sofia. I should’ve known it was you. Shouldn’t you be asleep, little sister?” He said with a slight chuckle. “Oh, shut it Tancred. Both of us should be asleep by now. But here we are.” Sofia said with a roll of her eyes as she sat down gracefully in one of the plush armchairs at the side of the room, her long, wavy hair being illuminated by the moonlight. “What brings you here in my room at this hour Fia? I know you all too well that you wouldn"t risk your most precious beauty sleep for something trivial.” Tancred told his sister as he walked inside the room, helping himself with a glass of brandy, before sitting down at the armchair adjacent to his sister. Sofia answers with silence, her eyes staring at his brother intently which the young man understood very well, making him heave a sigh of resignation. “Are you thinking about the trip we’ll be going to or to the person we would likely meet in a few days?” Tancred asked quietly. “There’s nothing to be worried about, you know.” He added as he gently patted her knee to reassure her. “I’m worried about her. How she’ll take it. And I’m worried about you.” The blond young lady told his older brother quietly blue orbs staring to the same blue eyes she has. “We’re- no. You’re going to barge back into her life, after two years, like nothing happened. That you didn’t leave her in the first place. Nor broke her heart in the process. And you’re going to meet in this kind of circumstances. Do you honestly think she’ll be overjoyed to see you, or let alone remember who you are?” Sofia said harshly. Tancred’s eyes widen and his heart crushing with every word she had spouted but remained quiet and drank his brandy in swigs. “It’ll be hard, I know. But let me worry about it.” The blond man softly said. “Do not worry about me Sofia. Let things fall in to place. But if it makes you feel better, I swear, I won’t let her go through that with me twice in a life time. Rest. It’ll be a long day tomorrow. We still have a lot to prepare for before we leave.” He assured his sister, kissing her in the forehead. With a resigned sigh, Sofia stood up and embraced his brother before getting out of the room. The sound of the door closing echoed the room and soon, silence enveloped the bedroom. Leaving the empty glass on the coffee table, Tancred flops down on his bed and sigh. “ I swear.”.
