A cold Saturday morning, the town is covered by dew and you can hear the echoes of the town crier in the distance. Dantushi is a town in the far East of Lucando. They live by their ancient tradition even in the present day. Mr Gabson and his wife live in a mansion right in the middle of town. They are well known for their wealth and influence in the society but most especially, they are known as the couple who haven't been able to bear a son. In Dantushi, a man who is unable to bring forth a son begins to loose his respect in the society. it has been fifteen years of marriage and they have been blessed with two daughters but no son yet. The town crier passes by their house as he continues to hit his gong and speak at a high pitch in order to pass on information. "Those who have ears let them hear, the priestess will be at the town square by sun down. Bring forth your problems to her feet let her provide you solutions". He hits his gong harder. "Do not forget your sacrifices". he walks away as he shouts "He who has ears, let him hear". Mrs Gabson stands at her windows staring out at the town crier as he makes his way across town. She turns around and takes a look in the mirror while holding her stomach as though there was a child in it. Mrs Chi Gabson in her late thirties is a petite beautiful woman, her eyes are quite fierce as she is also find of keeeping a straight face. she has a clear skin and really long hair. She stands there looking in the mirror when Mr Gabson walks into the room. "Good morning my beautiful wife". he says as he plants a kiss on her forehead. "My husband, good morning" she says with a deep sigh. " What could be the problem?". He asks. she stands there staring at him wondering if she should speak or remain silent Mr Obi Gabson is a tall and well built man in his mid forties, his shoulders so broad, his beards so full and his face shaped like an egg. He almost appeared as a giant next to his wife. "My love, should we try the priestess out?". she finally speaks. "No, we need not to rush our time". He replies as he turns his back to her. Mr Gabson is a member of the modern day church and solidly believes in his religion, his wife on the other hand a traditionally educated woman. She worships Jasha the god of the land and this causes issues once in a while. "How about I go to the priestess and you go to the church?" Mrs Gabson says while moving from one end of the room to the other. The room is big enough to be considered a wedding reception hall. It is furnished with fine wood as though you had stepped into a palace. The king sized foam is covered with white bedding, and the bed stand along side the stools made of golden materials. A tall mirror stands at one end which reflects every inch and corner of the room. Mrs Gabson walks around and stops right in front of the mirror. "Obi!". she calls out to her husband. "Yes, I can see you clearly". he says as he stands right behind her. "Don't you want a boy? One just like you? The face, the bravery, everything!". she says as she places his hands on her stomach. "Let's do this My love" she finishes. He takes a look at her from head to toe. "Okay, but we are doing this together at both altars". Chi dances swiftly around the room, so full of joy, taking one step at a time and dancing constructively which amuses Obi till he can't hold in his laughter any longer. "You will need to take dance lessons so you won't humiliate us once again during the child's dedication". they both laugh,kiss briefly and stand there hugging each other. ****** "Naza, Naza!". Nonso calls out as she walks into Naza's room. Nonso Gabson is the first fruit of the Gabson Family. A very smart 14 year old. She is a tall slender beauty, she appears taller than most girls and boys in her age group. "Yes? Is it not too early to be shouting?". Naza asks from the bathroom. "Hurry out, I need to tell you something important". Nonso echoes Naza quickly rushes out with her tooth brush in her hands. Naza is a chubby 8 year old girl of average height. She is of playful nature and is always enticed by information. "What happened". she asks curiously. "Shhh, I overheard mum and dad's conversation just now". Nonso says in a whisper. "Okay, what did they say? Are they getting me my new phone?". Naza asks happily "No, but they are getting us something New". Nonso stands from the bed and smiles widely.“ A baby brother!" she exclaims "Oh, okay. Is that all?". Naza asks with a tone of disappointment. Nonso looks at Naza for a while then walks towards her and holds her. " This was same way I felt knowing you were on the way". Nonso laughs. "I was so so Jealous that I swore to throw you off the bed once you arrived". "What are you talking about? I'm not jealous". she removes Nonso's hands from her body. "The moment I carried you in my arms, I became calm, I couldn't hurt such a pretty little soul". Nonso continues. "Okay Nonso, I was about to shower". Naza says and walks back into the bathroom shutting the door behind her with so much rage. Nonso laughs really hard for a while and leans on the bathroom door " I promise you, you will love him". she sits by the door and smiles as she stares into blank space. Naza sits in the bath tub and stares blankly into space as she begins to imagine a life with a brother.
