Dylan begins her new life as a vampire and Rowan’s wife, but the transition isn’t as smooth as she thought it would be. She must learn to navigate her new body as well as being part of a family for the first time and hers is no ordinary family. As her new powers begin to unlock so does the tension and danger, with relationships, alliances and Stacia’s bloodline

Dylan’s turning has turned all their lives upside down and nothing will be as it was. Will they be as solid as they were or will power and emotions drive a wedge between them. With the introduction of new people into their lives bringing even more chaos and confusion they all must step outside of their comfort zones to survive as a group and individually. Will love and loyalty be enough to get them through? It’s anybody’s game as they set off to right wrongs and piece back what was taken from them.

Love, revenge and success isn’t for the faint of heart.

I Need to Sit Down
Lucky’s Point of View The first thing I did after I heard from Rowan that he found Dylan was to Danny. I told him I would tell him everything in the morning and then I headed home. I stripped out of my bloody clothes at my door and burned them in my fireplace like I had Rowan and Dylan’s. I got into the shower and let the water wash over me. I hoped it would take away some of the shock and horror that went on earlier, not to mention all the dirt on me from almost two days on the road before the shitshow that was this night. I slammed a bag of blood and lit a joint before I fell into bed, eventually I fell asleep after I convinced myself that I would’ve heard from Rowan if something was wrong. I woke up to Danny banging on my door, I checked my phone before I got up, no word from Rowan, I wanted to believe that meant everything was hunky dory. “C’mon in brother” I held the door open for Danny, he looked like I felt. “Here” he tossed me a bag of blood. “My nerves are shot so I know yours must be too.” “Thanks brother, it’s much appreciated.” We drank our blood in silence. “I don’t think I can bring myself to face Rowan or Dylan” Danny sounded sadder than I have ever heard him. “Why!?” “I failed them. I failed them both” his voice cracked. “Danny no! You did not fail them, you saved her, if she had been shot one more time, I honestly don’t think she would’ve made it. I really don’t. How many times were you shot anyway?” “I’m not sure, four or five, something like that. It doesn’t matter.” “The fuck it doesn’t, even though it can’t kill us it still fucking hurts. Brother, when we got to you, you were in full vampire mode, you wouldn’t let her go until I talked you down. You also cupped your hands around her face to stop it from smashing on the concrete. All while moving at the speed of light I may add. Does that sound like a failure to you?” “It feels like one” he looked so ashamed as he hung his head.  “They both have every right to hate me.” “He took off his daylight ring when he thought she was gone, thank god it was the middle of the night because he was ready to burn.” I had no intention of worrying Danny the way I was worried, especially since I hadn’t heard from him, but the words spilled from me. “What? Jesus Christ, what stopped him?” “He heard me screaming for Dylan when she took off.” “She took off!? What the fuck went on last night?” he asked incredulously. “Ah brother, I’m sorry. I forgot you weren’t there.” I told him everything that happened, the devastation, Rowan coming completely undone, all of it. “It took her three hours to turn? No wonder Rowan lost his mind. I would’ve too. It’s terrible to say but I’m glad I wasn’t there; I would’ve made everything worse.” “Should I text him?” I asked Danny. “I’m kinda worried, I haven’t heard anything since he called me when he got to Laa’s. He hadn’t even seen Dylan yet.” “WHAT!? You haven’t heard from him? Either you call or I’ll call but one of us is calling.” Danny’s sudden panic was making mine worse. “How bout I text him first and if he doesn’t answer, I call?” “Fine. But if he doesn’t answer then I’m going over there, I don’t care if he hates me, I need to know they’re okay.” “I’m sure he doesn’t hate you Danny, he has no reason too.” I texted Rowan asking if everything was good, then we waited, and paced. “That’s it, I’m going over there” Danny marched to the door as my text alert went off, he stopped in his tracks. “It’s him! He said everything was perfect and he wants you and I to come over later.” “I need to sit down” Danny said dramatically as he clutched his heart. “I told you he didn’t hate you or was even upset with you. That’s crazy to even think brother. I don’t know what you think you could’ve done differently to have kept this from happening because there isn’t anything, you gotta let that go brother. Maybe you’ll feel better when you see her, because you are going to see her, today. Please don’t make me chase your narrow ass around.” “My narrow ass? Look at you, you’re a string bean. Don’t start with me, now is not the time.” He gave me a scolding look, “I hope your right about me feeling better when I see her, I bet she’s a sight to behold.” He smiled proudly thinking about Dylan, I had never known him to love someone as quickly as he loved Dylan. Danny was usually very stand offish until he had many reasons to trust someone. It was like he fell for Dylan like Rowan did but in a Familia type of way, it was like an instant sibling bond between them. “Does Scarlett know?” “Ha! You wanna talk about hate?” I took two more bags of blood out and told him about the phone call and the venom in her tone. “I’m sorry Lucky.” He put his hand on my shoulder, his sincerity surprised me. Danny was usually very sarcastically stoic. “You went through extremely traumatizing events, one right after the other. I know it doesn’t help but I’m sure she didn’t mean it.” We finished our blood and talked awhile before he left to go buy Dylan presents. Danny jokingly called it retail therapy, but I knew that shopping was the only thing that was going to make him feel better. I threw one of my credit cards at him and asked him to get her something for me too, ya’ know, to give him something else to shop for. He agreed to shop for me, but he refused to take my card. I rolled another joint; it was going to be a long day.   Danny’s Point of View Now I love Scarlett, I do but Lucky had been through enough and he certainly didn’t need to be torn up about her being mad at him. Especially about something she had no business being mad at him for. But because I loved her, I would be nice while I clearly and firmly put her in her place. “Hello muppet!” I said to her when she answered her door, “you look just awful.” “Thanks Danny, you always know what to say to make a girl feel better.” I followed her into her apartment and sat in one of the accent chairs in her living room. “Yes, it has been a hell of a night, hasn’t it?” I said to her as she curled up on her monstrous couch that nearly killed Lucky and I when we moved it in here. I winced as I was reminded that Lucky spent the entire night before he left for the run getting this place ready for Scarlett only to come home to absolute carnage. “Have you spoken to Dylan?” “No. She’s not returning any of my calls or texts. I have no idea what is going on.” She began to cry. “You haven’t heard from her because she doesn’t have her phone. I have it, she left it in the club before she…” My words trailed off; I couldn’t bear to think about those final moments. but I told her every single gory detail about what transpired the night before, just as Lucky had told me. I went over to her and tried to comfort her, but she was inconsolable, I figured I might as well tell her all the bad news while I was at it. “I know you don’t want to hear this, but you will not be able to see Dylan anytime soon. I realize that’s hard to hear but it’s what has to happen, for your safety Scarlett.” “That’s what Lucky said! I don’t understand!” she cried. “Yes, he did, and he was right to do so.” I said calmly. “Dylan would never hurt me!” she snapped. “Dylan the mortal would never. Dylan the vampire might. Not forever, just for now. I understand why people would think that the turning is the biggest part, and in a way, it is but Scarlett dear, you must understand, Dylan must learn how to be a vampire. Her senses are going to be 100 times more sensitive than they were and that is no small feat to navigate. She cannot be around any mortal until her bloodthirst begins to wane and she learns how to turn off her sense of smell, so she doesn’t want to tear into your neck and drain every drop of tantalizing blood from you or any mortal for that matter. And as you mourn her understand she must mourn herself as well. She was mowed down in a parking lot; she will remember that if she hasn’t already and she will have nightmares forever about that. As will Rowan, Lucky and I. As well as Colton.” “I hate it. Does she know about JJ?” she asked. “I’m not sure, Rowan asked Lucky and I to come over later today. I’ll obviously know more then, but what I’ve told you is all I know as of right now.”   “At least someone can see her.” She huffed. “Scarlett dear, you have three options. The first, you can sit here and stew which is going to solve nothing. Option number two, you can go shopping with me, or you can go apologize to Lucky for being so nasty to him.”
