Being a Goddess might seem awesome considering all the perks that comes with it, but Ami doesn't see it that way especially when her powers kept growing consistently and harder to control as she reached her teen-adult age.

She didn't always know she was a goddess.

She was born a goddess but her powers were locked away deep within her and she was cast amongst humans so as to hide her status.

But the truth couldn't be long hidden, and as these powers started surfacing, her enemies also started to surface.

Now she's being cast once again into a totally different world of myth and gods and goddesses and deities and monsters as she discovers her true nature and has to strive to survive and also keep everyone around her safe.

This got harder especially after she fell in love with a lady, revealing parts of her that she never even knew existed.

Now she has to grow quickly into her true form so as to keep herself and her loved ones safe from enemies she has had since before she was born, including her own father.

This story is an adventurous, mysterious, magical, supernatural, paranormal and an extraordinary fantasy fiction,

An African Yoruba heritage and mythology original, with a touch of other mythologies to include Egyptian, Greek, Hindu & Roman mythology based on info from books all over .

Introduction
This story is fixed as a blend of the past with the present, not only in an African setting (as it involves the USA and other countries as well as Egyptians, Greeks & Romans), but mainly the Yoruba culture of mostly Nigeria but extending to other countries like Benin republic & Togo. Taking the deities from the past when they were well known, powerful and significant, to the present where they remain mostly as a distant past history, the fiction part of it comes in to spark their unintended uprising when they try to return balance in the way they saw fit after forces of darkness had tipped it off. These deities were real enough during their time in the past though, and are still not to be trifled with despite their dormant nature of the present. Here are some of the most well known Yoruba Deities: 1. Olorun (Olodumare) - The Supreme Being, God and Creator of the Universe, Father to all Deities. 2. Orunmila - The first born son of Olodumare, Deity of Wisdom, Divinition & Foresight. First Father of Ifa. (Major God) 3. Yemoja - Mother Deity of Mankind, Divinity of the Sea, Daughter of Obatala & Wife of Aganju. (Major Goddess) 6. Olokun - Deity of the Deep Ocean, The Abyss & Unfathomable Wisdom. Second Father of Ifa. (Major God) 7. Sango - Deity of Fire, Lightning & Thunder, also represents Male Power & Sexuality. Husband of Oya & Father of Ibeji. (Major God) 8. Oya - Warrior Deity of Wind, Sudden Change, Hurricane and Powerful Sorceress, Wife of Sango. (Major Goddess) 9. Ogun - Warrior Deity of the Forge, Iron, Labor, Politics, Sacrifice and Technology. (Major God) 10. Osumare - Deity of Direct Movement, Rainbow, Serpents, Guardian of Children, Changes Sexes, Lord of Elongated things and Controller of the Umbilical Cord. Gender-fluid (Major) 11. Osun - Deity of Beauty, Love, Fertility and Divinity of Rivers. (Major Goddess) 12. Esu - Deity of the Underworld, Punishment, Crossroads, a Trickster and Messenger between Humankind & Deities. (Major God) 13. Osoosi - Deity of Hunting & Scouting, Deity of the Accused & those seeking Justice. (Minor God) 14. Babaluaye - Deity of Illness and Infectious Disease, also the Healing Curer of all Ailments. (Minor God) 15. Oba - Deity of Marriage and Domesticity, Daughter of Yemoja, Sango's banished Wife. (Minor Goddess) 16. Erinle - Deity of Physical Health & Wellness, Medical Physician to the Gods. (Minor God) 17. Osanyin - Deity of Forest, Natural Healer & Guardian of Herbs. Has split personality (Minor God & Goddess) 18. Ifa - Deity of Prophecy, Oracle to the Humankind, Son of Orunmila & Olokun. (Minor God) 19. Oko - Deity of Agriculture & The Harvest. (Minor God) 20. Ibeji - Deities of Youth & Vitality, also known as the Sacred Twins (They have two representations Twin Youths of the same sex & Twin Children of different Gender). (Minor) 21. Ori - The Metaphysical Concept of One's Spiritual Intuition & Destiny, Literal meaning Head. (Minor) 22. Iku - Literal meaning 'Death', mostly Metaphysical as well but sometimes as physical as the other gods especially when beckoned by any of them (child of Esu). (Minor) These gods have lots of Stories revolving around them, describing and shaping them in the time past, but over time as civilization and modern religion crept in, people started to forget, change their ways and turned away from the gods, only very few are left who remembers and even fewer who still believes in them. But one has to ask, in all those times what happened to the gods? well they didn't die off or got locked up, in fact most of the major ones got furious at the humans for forgetting and changing their ways, others just saw humankind as ingrates and most of them wanted to act. Only that it was just Olodumare's wish that humankind be left alone to follow whichever ways they like and believed in, after all they are his creations and he did create them with freewill, and as the supreme being and father of them all they had to obey. So they kept living their lives as an almost totally forgotten history and only devout to those who still remember and serve them. *** The not too distant past Osoosi the god of hunting loathes to take on human form, partly because he sees them as an inferior entity and partly because its a frail form and he can just explicitly use his powers just as much as the human form can allow,  But he does need to use it every now and then for the realm of some of the game he hunts, even though his game wasn't of the usual kind.  He hunted demons & wild beast of the nether realm that found its way into the earthly plane. Today his mark was a demonic horse-like creature that had been infecting fruit bearing trees and poisoning them. Oko the god of agriculture and harvest had beseeched him to help track down the beast and send it back rather painfully to the nether realm. It was his third day on the hunt and finally he now had the creature in his sight, it was over a mile away from him in the woods currently infusing more poison in some fruit trees, but his superior keen eyesight picked it out anyway. So he notched an arrow in his long bow and drew aiming for the horse's dark heart.  The tip of the arrow started filing, rotating and getting sharper, then he got ready to release what would be a killer blow. Just then his ears caught a rustle behind him, he lost focus but had already released the arrow, he quickly turned towards the rustle and found himself face to face with Oya the warrior goddess and sorceress. His heart did a tap dance at the sight of her fierce beauty, she had a smile on her but that didn't tame her wild features. Her dark skin glistened and showed off her angular sharp and chiseled cheekbones and face structure. Her full lips tempted him, her full lashes flashed him flirty looks from her purple iris. "Looks like you missed your mark, that's unusual, I wonder why" she said to him with silky smooth voice and little fraying of her feather-like free-flowing white and purple gown with gold strips around the arm and edges. He turned to look at the arrow he released still going towards the horse but almost reaching it by now to show how really far the horse was, then thud it hit the horse but not at the heart like he had aimed. The arrow hit the horse in the belly and sunk in deep, the rotating tip still spinning and entwining the entrails of the creature. The horse squealed and bolted hitting its body on trees as it rushed off in unimaginable pain that might likely turn fatal. Osoosi turned back to face Oya with a pained look on his face, "I never miss my mark, though it is not my way to kill creatures in a gruesome or painful manner no matter how dark they are, that's more your own speciality, I on the other hand would rather send them off to a quick death" he said to her with a smirk. Her purple iris flashed red then a couple of other colors as she moved closer to him in a zoom. Osoosi is well taller than she is but still she managed to look him eye to eye with menace that he found amusing "Are you implying that I'm a cruel being? Ehn Oso?" She asked calling him by a nick she'd created for him. To which he smiled broadly as he replied "That I am, Oya, *'apani ni pa ku pa' ". She cooled visibly at the words she regarded as words of flattery from his mouth and her iris returned to its purple shade. She circled her arms around his neck and smiled up at him, "I love it when you accuse me and stand your ground, still its really no accusation though its just my own nature to be cruel, and you love it that way, don't you?" She said to him seductively. He tried to look away from her seductive eyes clearly feeling her breasts through the light clothes she was putting on as she pressed herself to him. "I am on duty, and I really don't think we should do this in the open sky under Olodumare's gaze", he said to her finally looking at her as he finished his sentence. She totally ignored his words and only tightened the pressure between them pressing harder to his body as she repeated forcefully "Don't you?". He took an inch of a second to consider the fact that she would never yield until she has had her way and also she was too irresistible for him. Then he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers in a soft kiss, she parted her lips and drew his in strengthening the kiss to a passionate one,  She felt him harden and slowly let her right hand go downwards caressing his body all the way till it reached his hard-on, she stroked it and got a soft moan from his throat and a more urged response as he quickened their kiss. He as well then let his right hand find her breast, he squeezed lightly and used his thumb to stroke her nipple earning him a strong moan of his own from her mouth after which she dislodged the kiss and arched her back, her head leaning backwards exposing more of her breasts to him. With his hand he ripped the soft fabric away and he placed his hot mouth on her breast the twin of the one his other hand is stroking, she moaned hard at the pleasure she got from his work there. Then she pushed him back hard with both hands, he stumbled a few steps back not at all surprised as he saw her eyes flashing a really strong purple glow now, she was fully aroused. 'Here comes the fun part' he thought to himself smiling, she covered the little distance between them in the same zoom movement, grabbed his hands with both of hers and threw him sideways at a tree his back striking the tree and getting a groaning creak from the tree. Her immense strength always surprised him though, she zoomed to him once more and leapt at him, he caught her and she wrapped her legs around him, she closed in on him kissing hard and passionately. He turned and had her back to the tree as he guided his hard-on in her, her moans at his thrusts lighted sparks of fire in his head and his eyes dimmed and brightened back and forth in repetitive succession. She grabbed his shoulders in a hard grip and dug her fingers into his skin as she reached climax with a stifled short scream. He followed right after and pressed his head to her neck playfully biting it with a couple of her hair strands making its way to his mouth. A little while passed between them as they adjusted and reclothed themselves in silence. Oya with a wave of her hands over her body, reconstructed her feathery clothes only it was more thick this time Osoosi noticed. "Let us go to a more comfortable abode" he told her having one of his safe dens in mind. "I'm not here for pleasure and comfort Oso, I bring a matter of grave importance" she replied. Osoosi smiled inwardly thinking its only Oya that could turn serious so fast like that after leading with something as casual as sex despite having something of utmost importance to deliver. "Wow, what would you now call what we just had then?, business sex?" he tried again trying to lighten her mood, but she won't have it. "I'm pregnant" she said with so much seriousness there's no doubting the authenticity of her words. Osoosi was taken aback, he then peered at her a little more closely and just then Oya's appearance shimmered and he saw a pregnant woman with Oya's looks in flowing gown and then her image flickered back to her normal self. He could almost laugh at the pregnant image of Oya was the situation not so dire, he decided to feign ignorance and asked "So you're pregnant for your husband Sango?". Her eyes flashed an angry red but it died off quickly and she replied "Sango hasn't had me since the old days of the time past and you know it, I can't ever let him have his way with me again after his debacle with Oba and his consistent frolicking with the human women, you own the child sprouting in me Oso, and I believe it is Olodumare's wish cos you very well know of how conceiving is really difficult for me" saying this she moved closer to him and placed a hand on his back. He turned to face her and held her hand in his "You have to understand, Sango will never take this lightly, he will raze the world at his finding out, you might not be in good terms with him all these decades but that doesn't make you any less his wife, he will regard it as an insult to his dignity and his ego will demand my head, it will lead to an uproar amongst the other gods, a civil war might break out from it and it might very well affect humankind and you know Olodumare doesn't want that, please *'ife' think about this hard and well and all its complications". Oya slowly slipped her hands away from his and turned her own back on him this time. "What should I do then?, what do you suggest we do to make this right?" She asked in a tone as soft as cloud yet hard as steel. He decidedly chose his next words carefully, "There hasn't been the birthing of a divine child in ages, with the loss of humankind's faith in us also came some side effects like infertility amongst us, the balance is upright now as the decree of Olodumare made it so, who knows how dangerous a divine child birthing could be this time around, it could hold complications even for you, not to talk of the ruse and ruckus Sango and his allies like Ogun will cause at such an occurrence given the circumstances that made it so". Oya was really struggling to keep her patience with him, she does love him after all, but "Osoosi, what do you propose we do?". He blanched at hearing his full naming from her, she rarely does that but he summoned the courage and replied her "The child cannot be birthed, its an abomination and a taboo that cannot be allowed to live, I'm sorry *'ife' please understand". Oya took a deep breath and seemed to hold it, after a short while of uncomfortable silence Oya said "Oso, You are a coward" and with that she stepped forward, released the held breath and disappeared in plume of purple smoke and soft feathers that made a miniature tornado before dispersing. Osoosi stood there a while longer contemplating what to do next, then he decided he'd leave it to Oya to use her better judgment to take the necessary action, 'she's not so dumb to not know the implications' he thought to himself. He then picked up his bow and quiver and started walking towards the direction that the horse went off in, he still has a job to complete. Glossary *'apani ni pa ku pa' - 'one who kills gruesomely' *'ife' - 'love'
