Julian had finished eating, but he stayed seated, casually scrolling through his phone.
He was really into whatever he was reading. After a while, the corner of his mouth lifted slightly, and he let out a soft chuckle in his smooth, rich voice. “She’s got guts.”
Michael, standing beside him, couldn’t help glancing at the screen too and added, “Way more dramatic than any TV show. Claire’s pretty fearless and smart.”
“She’s not acting. She’s gambling with her life,” Julian said offhandedly.
He stared at the screen for another few seconds before finally putting the phone away and getting up.
