The plane had just landed.
As she stepped out, Claire spotted the Bentley waiting up ahead. She smiled and turned to Julian, saying, “Sir, you go ahead. Don’t worry about me.”
Julian gave her a look, calm and indifferent, then walked off without a word.
“Catch you later,” Michael said as he rushed to follow, hurrying to open the car door for Julian before hopping in the front passenger seat himself.
Inside the car, Kenneth glanced at the rearview mirror, his eyes briefly unfocused as he watched the scene behind. “Why’s Miss Claire in a wheelchair now? Did her ex-husband hurt her or something? Are we just leaving her like that? What if something happens?”
