It had been raining for two days straight, the weather was freezing, and the two little ones had been stuck indoors. Unsurprisingly, they both caught colds. Lucas was hit worse—threw up too—so Emilia hurriedly took them to the hospital.
"I don’t want a shot, I really don’t!" As soon as he heard the word “shot,” Lucas totally freaked out. His face went pale, and he clung tightly to Emilia’s coat. “Auntie, no shot! Please!”
Looking into his eyes, Emilia saw pure fear.
It’s just a shot—most kids have them growing up. Why was he so scared?
Lucas kicked up a huge fuss, screamed and cried non-stop. In the end, Emilia had no choice but to let the doctor prescribe some meds instead. She took Lucas and Sebastian home, got some warm water, and helped Lucas take the medicine.
