Chapter 7 You Win, Carlos

"Fiona!" Carlos looked like he'd gone mad, pinning her down on the bed. His eyes burned with rage. "I knew it. You're heartless. You didn't even try to save your own sister, so why would you care about a baby that's not even born yet? But let me tell you something, Fiona-this baby is mine. If you dare think of hurting it, I swear, the man you love won't rest in peace even after death!" Fiona couldn't move under his weight, but the hatred in her eyes told volumes. Tears welled up, stinging her eyes, but she stubbornly refused to blink. If she blinked, it'd be like admitting defeat. "Carlos, Bruce is already dead. He's gone! What more do you even want?" "What do I want? To dig up his grave, drag his corpse out, stomp on his bones, and scatter his ashes!" "You wouldn't dare!" "Try me. Go ahead, see if I flinch." Tears finally slid down her face, her heart twisting painfully. Debbie-her twin sister. And Carlos-the man she once loved with everything she had when she was young. Now both of them were using Bruce to threaten her. One with his life. One with his death. Tears streamed across Fiona's cheeks, but the smile on her lips just looked more bitter and broken. "You win, Carlos." Carlos turned around in frustration, slamming the door as he stormed out. Debbie stood there watching him leave, feeling a twisted sense of satisfaction. Though on the surface, she put on a fragile, guilty look. "Fiona, I didn't mean for this to happen..." "Get out!" Fiona swiped the cold cup of water off the table, letting it crash to the floor.
