"Didn't hear me the first time? Verity, you have to leave the Wallace house," Lilah repeated gently, but firmly.
Verity froze on the spot. In just a few seconds, her expression twisted through disbelief, rage, and sheer refusal. Her eyes practically sparked with fury and refusal.
"Lilah, you're talking nonsense!"
After what felt like forever, she finally snapped, shouting at the top of her lungs while jabbing a finger at Lilah's face. "You vile woman! This isn't Gabriel's decision! This is you! You're the one trying to force me out, not him. Gabriel would never do this!"
Lilah casually waved a hand in front of her nose, clearly disgusted. "Sweetheart, you're way outta line. With that kind of attitude, you really think you're still fit to tutor Aiden?"
