  “Lucas, what are you staring at?”   Fiona tugged lightly at his sleeve, noticing his absent look.   Blocked by the trees by the roadside, Lucas couldn’t see clearly anymore. He pulled his gaze back and said flatly, “Nothing.”   He fixed his eyes ahead, feeling unusually heavy inside.   Claire had followed them.   Julian was standing by a tree, talking on the phone, with his little “follower” trailing behind. He glanced back at her.   Seeing him on the call, Claire instinctively stopped and backed off to a nearby pavilion.   She rubbed her temples, feeling ridiculously stupid.
