George stormed into Evelyn's office, his face dark with rage.
Just earlier in the conference room, Charles practically called him out by name, warning him in front of the entire board not to mess with Evelyn. George had never felt so humiliated.
He had no clue Evelyn was joining the company—and with a higher position than him, no less. That was the real kicker.
Steven stepped right into George's path. "Mr. Knight, the GM is currently busy."
One look at George's furious expression and Steven instantly guessed what this was about. He frowned slightly.
George snapped, glaring at him. "Who do you think you are, trying to block me?"
Steven smiled faintly. "I'm her assistant now. If you have anything to discuss with the GM, you'll need to go through me first."
