Dru turned to the perplexed humans. “There is no danger any more,” she said simply. “They will not hurt us.”
“How did you do it?” Bred exclaimed.
“It was not hard.” Dru’s face was positively beaming. “These so–called dragons are the Great Ones of Nokre.”

The crew of the Honey B broke into gales of hysterical laughter, the only possible release for the tension created by the sudden threat of death and the equally sudden reprieve. Dru was annoyed at this reaction, and some of her annoyance slipped out, but Bred, wiping the tears from his eyes when he was able to speak again, explained the reason behind their behavior and Dru was somewhat mollified.
