The smell of his breath was all over my face as he held me roughly. I struggled to break free, but it was all a futile attempt, and he laughed menacingly as I fought against my bindings.
"What I’m about to do," he sneered, "I’m going to enjoy it very, very much."
He threw me across the room, and I collided against a pillar which cracked from the force. Pain shot through my side, and I imagined that one of my ribs was cracked at least, if not broken.
"Did you really think you could stop me?" he growled. "I, who singlehandedly destroyed my brother and claimed what was rightfully mine? I, who brought the entire dragon kingdom under my rule? What do you have, little princess? A few men who follow you? Your dragon boyfriend?"
