Seeing the way my mom lights up the moment Noah runs to her fills my heart with joy. Nyx watches through my eyes, her head tilted to the side as Mom wraps him in her arms and lifts him to her hip like she’s done it a thousand times before. Her fingers tremble slightly as she brushes an unruly piece of hair out of his face.
