Luna of Moonlight ☾

Hello, Thank you for giving my book a chance. I have written the whole book already so will hopefully upload at least seven chapters a day. Please enjoy :) It was late when dad drove us through the small town called 'Enceladus' (Enceladus is the moon of Saturn). This is the sixth time we have moved since I turned 9. My father is a business man so we move around a lot. I never really have much time to make friends any place we move to. I used to go to a public school when I was little but because of moving to different places I became home schooled. I am now 16 and dad said I can finally finish the next couple of years in a high school for my GSCEs. I am excited to be able to go back to public school. Nervous as hell though I start school tomorrow. I tried to go on a social media to try and see if there was anybody that is going to the same school. I went on a website called 'FB' to make friends and it scared the living day light out of me. I am not trying to put girls or boy confidence down, but they take photos in their bikinis and post it all the time. I wish I had that confidence to even go to a swimming pool and show of that much skin. I guess that being indoor most of my life plays a big role in my awkwardness. However maybe because I come from Britain where beaches where freezing most year around its not that common. My dad is a quiet man meaning we don't get to much conversation in, but we are still like best-friends because we understand each other. We both love space and simple sentences. Which makes my dad straight forward in business debates. My mum died when I was born. My dad says ‘she was beautiful and kind’ but he does not talk about her much but every year on my birthday he spills a little bit more about their younger years. “We are here Selena" my dad says displeased as we drive past the town sign with graffiti of… Stuff placed all over it. It was a cool night and the windows where steam up from the heat in the car. I wipe the window and look outside to see we are surrounded by woods. The more trees we past the longer they got making the small road seem narrow up a head. Peaceful silence surrendered us almost strangling us. I wish I brought a book to read on the road as the lights kept flicker on the roads. A buzzing noise came from air vent in the car and after 30 seconds it started to drive me crazy. I lent forward trying to see what was in it. Dad stopped the car quickly. Hitting the breaks as fast as he could. I feel myself fall forward then within a few seconds the seat belt hits against my chest hard. I quickly move my head side wards to see if my dad was okays, my dad looks at the road. "Dad are you okays?" I ask just getting my breathing to slow down. "Yes sorry for scaring you Selena I swear I saw something." Dad says turning on the engine we start driving quicker through the dark road almost like we were running away from something. I am guessing we hit an animal that ran into the woods. The one thing I did notice though was that the buzzing had stopped. I look out into the woods for the rest of the drive to see if I could see anything within the shadows. All I could see was dead animals like hedgehogs and dead squirrels left as road kill. We finally get through the woods and see a little town, nearly every light is already off. We came from Dinkerfield a small city. However, compared to this town, Dinkerfield was huge. Dad told me there was a main part of the town known as the city which is where my school is 3 miles away. Around the city was two other small towns. It made me nervous to think all the students would come to this one school in the middle. We pull through the drive through of our new house. I have only seen it in pictures, but it felt like home. I hated living in huge houses. I love the simple two-bedroom houses, it was bricked but had a wooden feature to it, it was a two-story ground house I loved it. I also known this would be the first place I live in for a few weeks let alone a few years in a long time. I get out of the car as dad turns the engine off. Dad gives me a little tour of our new house. I smile as we get to my bedroom. Dad already painted everywhere and gave me a light blue room but behind the head board of the bed was moon wallpaper. I know this sounds stupid but ever since I was little I have been obsessed with the moon. I love to watch it. I love to try draw it. Even when I wrote story's I always imagined the girl having some magical powers from the moon. "I have unpacked everything apart from your clothes. I hope you like the wall paper I got it cheap in a nearby shop in the town next over" he smiles pleased with himself. “Its beautiful” I smile at him appreciating it. "Tomorrow you don't have to go to school Selena. I don’t want you to have another attack" my dad says still trying to convince me to rest from the two-day drive. "Thanks dad but I really need to catch up it is already half way through the year. I am also excited to finally put my study to use" I add on to try and sound more enthusiast then I am. "Okay well the alarm is in the draw next to your bed. I must wake up at 6am for work hun. Help yourself to anything you can find in the cupboards. The school bus will pull up about 8.30am so don't go to bed to late and good-night Selena" my dad says closing the door behind him. I sit on my bed pulling out my alarm clock and setting it to seven, for some reason I have a dangerous chill run through me feeling tomorrow is going to be interesting, but I was still scared that something could be bad.
