The helicopter had set down in a clearing a far enough distance from Dawn Sky that we would hopefully go unnoticed. I thanked the pilot, telling him to return to the citadel, and moved to the cover of the trees. I pulled out my phone and called Council Member Kennedy. They weren’t far away, so I headed off to meet up with them. Together, we began the approach on the Dawn Sky pack. We decided to approach from behind, take a look around first to hopefully get a better idea of exactly what we were dealing with. A noise in the nearby trees caught our attention, and we prepared ourselves to deal with whatever emerged.
