Mariah stared down from Alaric’s back at the Greenland below them. There was a big waterfall with water as white as the snow. The loud chirping of the birds made her feel connected to the earth, and to think she was about to spend four months there alone, wasn’t so scary anymore. She would have the animals of the forest keep her company.
With a loud screech, Alaric flew directly to the waterfall, and although Mariah was scared of them crashing, she had to trust that Alaric knew what he was doing.
