(Jaxon) I watched her drink the water slowly. Her eyes were getting heavier by the minute. "I'm so tired," she mumbled, leaning back against the couch cushions. "I know. You should get some sleep." She nodded but didn't move. Within a few minutes she was out cold, still holding the glass in her hand. I carefully took it from her and set it on the coffee table. She looked so peaceful when she was sleeping. Her face was relaxed and all the worry from earlier was gone. I couldn't leave her on the couch like this. She'd wake up with a sore neck and probably feel even worse than she already would tomorrow. I slipped one arm under her knees and the other behind her back, lifting her up slowly.
