Ellie Following the winding green trail of light, Tempest zooms through the forest. Granny and Drako are behind me. Riley is weakening and every minute we run, I feel it more and more. He’s not in pain any longer, but I fear he’s giving up. No warmth returns when I tell him I am on my way. We hit the edge of a pack and I watch the light lead straight into it toward a tall building. Tempest stops to wait for Granny and Drako who stopped the bike a mile back not wanting to alert them with the noise.
