I knew it was only a matter of time before they found out what I had done. I knew it! My mind had not let me have a single peace of mind.
From the moment I heard Marcus’s voice echo through the hallway and saw him rush into Alpha Cyril’s study, something inside me broke into panic. I waited in the corridor, hidden behind one of the pillars, my heart pounding so hard that I could hear it in my ears.
Minutes later, they both came out. Cyril looked furious. His steps were quick as if he couldn't wait to be where we were going. Marcus was talking fast, showing him something on his phone. They didn’t even notice me standing there.
