Feeling that we were at a safe distance away, I pulled back, off of her. Mara whimpered as she grasped at my arms. My eyes scanned her body, landing on the ever growing and darkening stain on her upper thigh. My heart stopped in my chest as I realized what it was. "You've been hit", I choked out.
Mara's eyes stayed locked on mine. "Boss?", Cal called out cautiously. "Alls well back there?", he asked. "No! Get us to the hospital now. She was hit", I bellowed. My hand immediately went to her wound to apply pressure. She whimpered as her small hand wrapped around my wrist. She didn't seem to be fighting me, just holding on. "Marabella, talk to me, per favore", I begged, my eyes locked on hers.
