Aria's POV
Alex was trying to ease the tension at our table by talking about the animals. I understood what he was doing and joined in with him. I only needed a moment to process seeing Josh here. I didn't expect it in the slightest. I guess jealousy will make one do something they never would before, right? "Mommy, why was he here? He never took us here", Colin interrupted our talk about animals.
"Mr. Alex told you, baby. He was here trying to see you", I answered tenderly. I don't want to tell him that it was most likely jealousy that brought him here. That his father is a narcissist. Naturally, the only person Joshua cares about is Joshua. Alex reached over Colin and gently rubbed his hand on my back in a soothing manner. His expression told me that he understood where my mind was. P
