Sawyer sat quietly at the table in the room watching whatever show was on TV as Elizabeth slept. Even he didn’t really know. He didn’t care, either. He just couldn’t sleep – it was for a myriad of reasons. He only needed a few hours sleep anyway, but so much had happened since that morning that he couldn’t switch off even when he did feel physically tired. He knew that things were hard for Elizabeth, but she seemed to have forgotten that things were hard for him, too. He had let her be upset, and angry, and contemplative.
