I sucked in a breath when one of the council members mentioned there was still one case left unattended. I thought that everyone had already forgotten about that incident with everything that was going on: the shocking revelation that Margaret's mother's death was likely a murder rather than a natural death, Walter's intention to kill me, and Sir Alexander's abuse of power by engaging in forbidden magic.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
"I'm sorry to say this, Your Grace, but the case is far more than over. We still have one thing left unattended," said one of the council members dressed in maroon silk. His monolid eyes that framed the pair of brown orbs were clearly visible on his oval-shaped face due to his shoulder-length brunette hair that was neatly tied into a low ponytail.
