Enrico’s eyes softened as he placed his hands gently on either side of Isabella’s face, his thumbs brushing her cheeks as if trying to soothe the storm brewing inside her. “You need to calm down, Isabella,” he said softly, his voice taking on a tone of calm authority. “Breathe for me. Just take a deep breath.”
Isabella’s body tensed further, her eyes narrowing in suspicion. She didn’t want to give in to him, didn’t want to let him dictate her emotions like this. “Enrico, let go of me,” she snapped, her voice trembling with anger.
But Enrico didn’t release her. Instead, he leaned closer, his hands still firmly on her face. “Take a deep breath,” he repeated, his voice unwavering. “For me.”
