  Once we're in Callahan's room, he gently sets me on the bed, and Medic comes in right behind him and kneels next to it, softly taking my face in his hands and looking me over. "Did he hit you anywhere but your face, Carrigan?"   "No, just my face," I say softly. "He knocked me down on the floor, but I think my face took the worst of it."
