  I was surprised how well Loch sat next to me on the four-wheeler when we drove to the barn. She's only nine weeks old, but she's smart as hell and listens damn good already. I really thought Carrigan would get me something simple for Christmas, given how crazy everything has been. A dog was the last damn thing I expected, but it's something I've always wanted. Just goes to show that she is the perfect woman for me, and even in the midst of everything, she does all she can to make me happy.   Climbing off the four-wheeler, I walk around toward the barn and whistle loudly, patting the side of my leg. Stopping in front of the door, I wait, and a second later, Loch runs up next to me and sits down, wagging her tail. We spent most of the day in and out of the common room with everyone. Shamr
