(Ava’s POV) I hadn’t even made it halfway up the stairs when I heard my name barked like a command behind me. “Ava.” I froze mid-step. The way he said it—sharp and clipped—was enough to make me turn around slowly. Logan stood at the foot of the stairs, his jaw clenched and eyes narrowed in a storm of emotions I couldn’t quite decipher. “Come with me,” he said, voice low but firm. I didn’t argue. I followed him down the hallway, out through a side door that led to a dimly lit courtyard.
