I was reviewing patrol reports in my office when I hear running footsteps in the hallway. The door bursts open and Aria rushes in, her clothes torn and dirt smeared across her face. Her hair is wild and there are scratches on her arms.
"Aria, what happened?" I jump up from my desk, crossing to her in three quick steps. "Are you hurt?"
She holds up a hand to stop me from examining the scratches. "I'm fine. But we have a serious problem, Kael. A very serious problem."
