Chapter 02: If He Wills It, the Hartley family Shall Perish!

"Shut up!" barked Adam, his murderous intent filling the entire courtyard. His bloodshot eyes stared coldly at the people in front of him.
All were shocked, staring at Adam.
One second, two seconds...
After a brief moment of astonishment, Matilda suddenly reacted. This was the Hartley family; what was she afraid of? He was just a useless, mentally ill person.
"Drake, how dare you order us around? If you make my son cry, I'll have your entire family killed!"
Adam clenched his fists, nails digging into flesh. He forcefully suppressed the urge to kill, gritting his teeth. "For the sake of Katie, I'll give you a chance. Kneel and apologize to my wife and daughter."
The villa fell silent, then erupted into laughter!
"Hahaha, did I mishear? Did he say he wanted us to kneel and apologize?"
"Shit, a madman will always be a madman. It must be impossible for him to think before he speaks. Adam Drake, your daughter pushed my son to the ground, so it's your family who should kneel and apologize!"
"Haha, stop teasing him. He's mentally ill; what if he has a psychotic episode? Killing is not a crime."

The security guards and the Hartley family's private bodyguards, who rushed over upon hearing the commotion, surrounded Adam, his wife, and his daughter.

Looking at the expressions on the faces of the Hartley family members, Katie had never seen them so afraid.

As if Adam's arms had held up a sky for her and her daughter, shielding them from all storms...
Meanwhile, Annie nestled in her mother's arms, her eyes sparkling with admiration as she looked at Adam. She happily asked, "Mom, is he Dad? Dad is amazing!"

Just then, a deep voice echoed from the entrance.
"What are you all doing?"
As the voice fell, an elderly man in a public security uniform entered the scene, a silver star shining on his shoulder.
The old man walked in, accompanied by four security officers.
The Hartley family was startled, immediately Slapping out of their shock. Everyone felt a sense of regret and shame.
Damn it, they were scared by a mentally ill person. How embarrassing.
Luckily... they weren't the only ones embarrassed; everyone present shared the shame.
Terry, filled with annoyance and resentment, glared at Adam and quickly went forward to greet, "Mr. Allen, why are you here?"
Jake Allen, Lisle's mayor, was a truly influential figure.
"Mr. Allen... um, you're right on time..." Matilda's face had swelled into a pig head. She was supported by two maids, muttering incoherently.
Terry blushed and hastily 'translated', "Mayor, my daughter asked you to arrest this mentally ill person. He intentionally attacked people in our Hartley family. Look at the security guards on the ground and my daughter, all beaten up by him... This is intentional harm, attempted murder. He must be arrested and sentenced!"
"Yes, arrest him and sentence him!"
"He should also compensate for medical expenses!"
The Hartley family members found a backbone all at once, and one by one, they accused Adam.
