Garrett’s POV
We had just cleared the guard's shack, but I have to say that it was a lot nicer than a shack. It was a twenty by twenty space with several cameras on both sides showing who entered and exited. The guard asked for my ID, and while he waited, he greeted my parents by name. He had a nice setup. Residents had their tags already saved in the system and only had to pull up to activate the gate. The gate moved smoothly and a lot quicker than I was expecting. I watched two vehicles zoom into the subdivision while my information was added to allow us entry.
The gate was set to close on a second vehicle if they dared to try to speed into the subdivision. That fact was mentioned as you turned off the highway and into the subdivision. It was also posted in several other p
