(Damian) I woke up to the feeling of her still in my arms. Alina was pressed against me. For a second, I just lay there, watching her sleep, feeling that calm I hadn’t felt in a long time. She stayed. After everything, she was still here. But reality didn’t care about moments like this. My phone buzzed on the nightstand. I groaned and shifted carefully so I wouldn’t wake her.
