The street is serene like every day. It'd be great for a walk if not for the heat of the weather. I had just stepped out of the house but I swear I can feel beads of sweat on my skin. Though I won't entirely blame it on the climate, given I'm also to blame for overdressing in this temperature. But just like last night, it's the only way I feel guarded. Mostly now that we are really going into town.
"Why are you disguised?" Lilith mocked when we approached mom's vehicle.
