The Ember-Pit Tavern was alive with laughter and the sizzling sounds of hot pot. Steam rose from the bubbling cauldrons at each table, carrying the rich aroma of spiced broth and tender meats.
Our entire Blackmoon Media team had gathered for this celebration dinner. The atmosphere was infectious - everyone was chatting, laughing, and enjoying themselves after our successful return to work.
I reached for another bottle of ale, the golden liquid catching the warm tavern lights. Before I could pop the cork, Seraphina's hand shot out to stop me.
"Drink less, don't get yourself drunk again," she warned, her tone carrying that familiar note of concern.
I grinned cheekily at her. "Don't worry, I know my limits."
