(Seraphina's POV)
"She hasn't actually made any work mistakes," I said quickly. "It wouldn't be fair to fire someone without a valid reason. Maybe we should wait for her to make an error first."
Kaelan was quiet for a long moment, and I could sense him processing my response.
Finally, he spoke, his voice softer. "Listen to you."
Half an hour later, Kaelan's Obsidian Phantom glided to a stop at the entrance of a magnificent building that seemed to pierce the evening sky. The structure was breathtaking, all gleaming glass and steel that reflected the city lights like a jewel.
