Chapter One.. Chance Meeting

1177 Words
I was so excited for today, because after work, I was going to go to the free clinic and get some hands on experience. I have dreamed all my life to become a doctor. I want to travel the world and just live freely. I love experiencing new things. I work at a local diner at the moment. You see right now I am saving money to move to a new town. I want to go to France and explore. So I have to work and do what I can to save my money. I look at my watch and notice I am going to be late, if I don't get off my ass and get moving. I ran to my bathroom, quickly stripped out of my clothes and took a quick shower. Once I finished I got dressed in a pair of slacks and a plain tshirt. I didn't like to dress up too much since I was going to end to getting dirty by the end of the night. I put my hair up in a chignon bun and then decided to let a few tendrils of my hair fall to the sides of my face. I pinched my cheeks a little to give the color and then put a little lip gloss on. I grabbed my purse and sweater then ran out the door. I waved my hands in the air to flag down a taxi. I wanted to stop by the coffeeshop before I head to the diner, then after that the free clinic. Several hours had passed and I finished up my hours at the diner. I was exhausted to say the least, but I knew the free clinic was shorthanded and could always use the help. Besides how else was I supposed to get some hands on experience training. I couldn't afford to go to school, plus work at the diner, and then go to the free clinic. I was already ready to pass out from exhaustion just from my hours at the diner. I seriously didn't know how other people did it. I give them credit and much respect, because I sure in the hell couldn't. The taxi pulled up to the free clinic and I got out after handing the driver some money. I walked towards the clinic when Jackie, my crazy friend came rushing out. "Thank God your here. We are packed and I need some help. Hurry up and get your ass in here." Jackie said growling as she grabbed my hand and dragged me in the clinic. I just chuckled lightly and shook my head. She always knew how to exaggerate things. Once she got me inside she let go of my hand, I start calling people back to the nurse room and start vitals and all that nonsense. "I am going to get half you get the other half." Jackie smiled tensely. I knew she was under a lot of stress here, since she was usually the only nurse doing everything. I nodded my head and called my first patient. By the time I looked at the clock it was already 9:00 pm. I was trying to keep my eyes open and help Jackie. Course she didn't look any better. We both looked like hell worn over. "Let's go call the last patients. They have waited patiently." Jackie said yawning slightly. I slapped her shoulder as I started yawning as well, "Bitch, you better stop that! I still have to make it home." I said frowning. She just laughed and we headed towards the waiting room. Just as we entered the waiting room the patients were gone and in there place was about five men in black suits and guns on their belts. They looked very dangerous and powerful. One was sitting on the chair slumped over and bleeding while the other ones were standing around him almost like they were guarding him. Jackie and I exchanged a nervous glance, then we both walked towards the men. "Excuse me gentlemen, but what can we do to help you." The man who was slumped over suddenly looked up and looked me right in my eyes. I gasped slightly, because he was absolutely breathtaking. He looked like an Adonis. He had an indescribable expression on his face as he looked at me. His eyes slowly looked up my body and then down my body. The look he gave me made my juices flow and I instantly felt my panties soak. He smirked slightly as if he knew what he just did. I blushed slightly and turned away. "I have been shot and need immediate attention." the Adonis stated calmly. "We really don't have the proper tools Sir. We will gladly call the ambulance for you." Jackie said nervously. "No, this is a very important issue that needs to stay here in this building. No one should know that I am here. Now hurry up and get this done." Adonis said growling. I was just about open my mouth and give him a piece of my mind, but Jackie shook her head frantically telling me not too. 'Why' I mouthed to her. She just shook her head and mouthed back 'later'. We stayed there at the clinic for the next couple hours taking care of Adonis's wound. He would not let either of us leave until he was taken care of. Once Jackie and I finished pulling out several bullets from his chest and arms, we cleaned the wounds and then bandaged him up. I wonder who he was. He must be someone important to want so much privacy and to have so many guards with him. I went up to one of the guards to tell him we were done, but he just looked down and didn't speak. Well that's rude. "You talk to me only, not my men." Adonis growled angrily. I spun around and saw him sitting up carefully. I gulped inwardly. He was still gorgeous even all bandaged up. Ahhh! Get ahold of yourself Victoria. "Sir, the other nurse and I have done all we can. We are tired and would like to go home. We do have lives out of this clinic you know." I mumbled. "Princess, you have got a lot of guts talking to me like that. If you were anyone else they would be on the ground dead. Do you even know who I am? Hmmm.." Adonis said smugly. I just looked at him and narrowed my eyes. "We are leaving and I suggest you do the same. Have a good night Sir. I don't care to know your name, because I won't be seeing you again." I said annoyed and frustrated. Before I spun around I noticed a huge smile form on Adonis's face. Well guess what, so what if he looks good enough to eat. I want to go home, maybe later in the morning I will use my little friend to help me get some relief, because I had a feeling I was going to need it.
