Khalie woke up in an unfamiliar environment. She looked around and assumed she was in a hotel suite. But the smell was potent, so she realized she's not in a hotel. She's inside the private suite of Weston’s inside the hospital.
Suddenly…she remembered Luke and the accident.
She immediately brought herself to a sitting position. Her head slightly swung in her abrupt movement. She grabbed the sheets to make herself steady.
Then she heard, “Khalie!” It’s the soft voice of Samantha.
“Auntie!” Khalie said her tear-filled eyes met Samantha's equally tear-swollen eyes.
“You need to rest. They gave you a drip. You passed out a few hours ago. You have to rest to stay strong, Khalie.” she reminded her while she stroked her messy hair and wiped her tears.
