It was already late afternoon when Khalan woke up. His family was still asleep. The movie they were watching earlier was not done yet when they all fell asleep. They all looked peaceful. The best time they ever had together. Aliyah was the only one who could fill the void in their hearts, and now that she’s back, they were absolute whole, nothing more to ask for.
Khalan kissed the sleeping Aliyah on her forehead, and she opened her eyes slowly.
“Honey, it’s late afternoon,” he said softly.
“Really, it feels so good. I like this so much,” she said and continued to snuggle back in his arms, holding Khalie on top of her. It definitely feels good having Khalan this close to her.
