I fixed my gaze on Angelo as I saw him step out of the hospital exit. I followed his movements until he paused at the taxi stand, holding his cellphone and chatting with someone. While he waited for his ride, I decided to drive over, executing a U-turn that brought me right in front of him. "Get in!" I called out, rolling down the window.
