We stayed at the safe house for a couple more hours. Though my tears had somewhat subsided, the pain remained unbearable. All I wanted at that moment was to see my family.
While inside the room, I kept praying that it was all just a bad dream. I still couldn't fathom why this had happened to my family. Why would someone ambush them? Who would want to kill them? As far as I could remember, my father didn't have any enemies when he was alive, and even less so my mother. My mother was too kind to have anyone plotting to kill her.
I couldn't think of any reason why this happened. My mind was in turmoil, so I didn't dwell on thinking too much. All I wanted at that moment was to see my family.
A few hours later, there was a knock on my door. I stood up and slowly walked to open it.
