I suddenly heard a sob and saw Martha's crying, making my heart melt. I pulled her into a hug and patted her back comfortingly.
"Thank you for saving me."
I smiled and let her cry in silence. She repeatedly thanked me, and we chatted a little about her plans now that she was free. We also talked about my plans now that I am Venom's current favorite. Apparently, my life as a student will take a dramatic turn that I need to be prepared for and aware of.
