I did not leave Linus' side even when he fell asleep again, but this time he fell asleep with a smile on his face. Unlike how miserable he looked when I arrived.
When night came, someone from his pack brought in trays of food they had left on the table. I thanked them but remained beside Linus until my stomach complained in the middle of the night and I finally gave in to eating.
I almost jumped ten feet in the air when his mother appeared behind me while I was eating. "He won't be awake until tomorrow. You should take a rest."
I swallowed the piece of pork I was swallowing in my mouth, wincing when it hurt my throat a little, before standing up to greet her. "Would you like to join me?" I asked politely.
