Soon after dinner, we all gathered in the living room, sipping our coffees. As usual, Bella is in my arms, and Sophie is in her lap. I can see the strain on Bella's face when I looked down on her. She is obviously still recuperating, and the excitement of the day is taking a toll on her.
My parents must have noticed it too that they call it a night. Collette went with them and told Bella she'll revisit her tomorrow. After the hugs and goodbyes, I took Sophie in my arms and told Bella to freshen up.
I told her I would tuck our daughter to bed while she gets ready for bed. If you're wondering, I'm spending the night. There's no way in hell I'm leaving my girl alone tonight. She smiled at me gratefully and kissed Sophie and me.
