TERRIBLE

FURTHERMORE, Toni arrived at the coffee shop, and she looked around to see a familiar face when her eyes fixed at the man who is sitting and playing on his phone. Automatically, her eyes rolled because according to what she could see, the man wanted to do nothing but play and he was not interested on their date at all. She cleared her throat when she reached the table but, the man ignored her and so, she just sat in front of him even without his permission. Silently, they are both just minding their own businesses. "This is a waste of time," Toni said out loud to get his attention, and because she was irritated by his appearance alone. "I know you are here because of your mother. So, am I. If you have other things to do, you can go now. I don't mind," said the man who didn't even look at her because he was busy playing on his phone. "Fancy that. I'm leaving now," she seriously replied and stood up, leaving him because she didn't want anyone wasting her time as she is a busy woman. . . Moving along, Toni stood in front of the simple resto for quite some time because she is wondering why she is at a cheap restaurant instead of an expensive one. "This better be good," she whispered to herself, and went inside even though she was full of wonder. Whilst, a guy in a white shirt and black pants is patiently waiting at his table and he doesn't take his eyes off the entrance to wait for his date. He keeps looking at his phone too to see if his date has arrived or not. Then all of a sudden, the time seems to slow down when a beautiful woman entered with a strong appearance. He scanned her and just by the way she dressed, he was immediately attracted to her. He then compared the girl to the picture he was holding inside his phone, and his eyes widened because finally the date he was waiting for have arrived. He quickly hid his phone and approached her to formally introduce himself to her. "Hello, my name is Lawrence Franco. You must be Toni Wayman, right? It's very nice to meet you. You look lovely," he introduced himself coolly, and he extended his right hand between them. "Likewise. Tell me, do you really want us to date here?" Toni asked hesitantly as she looked around with judgments already inside her head, and without shaking his hand. "Trust me, the food here is delicious. You will love it here. Come," he offered energetically, and he pulled her waist for them to get inside and go back to the table where he was a while ago. And like a true gentleman, he pushed the chair so, she could take a sit, and then, he sat too. "Excuse me! Order, please," he called, raising his right hand so the server could see him and then, he looked back at her. "So, how are you? Can you tell me something about yourself? I am curious," he said cheerfully to make her feel comfortable. "Everyone knows me. There's nothing much to tell about me. How about you? Do you have anything to tell me about yourself?" she answered without giving it a sensible answer so instead, she threw the question back at him. "Well..." he hummed but before answering, he drank some water. "I am an outgoing person, I love adventures that's why we are here now. I am giving you a taste of my adventures and I am telling you even though this resto is small, the food here is amazing," he mentioned happily. In a minute, the server arrived and he chose the food for them since he knows the resto better than her without asking her first. Her eyebrows rose on a sudden taking control that she is not happy about because he's making her feel inferior. Eventually, the waiter came back with the food so, they started eating and she is classy as ever that he immediately noticed. He actually had a good time with her while they're eating because he kept talking and entertaining her until they finished eating. Soon, they left the restaurant together and stood at the side. "So, do you have plans after our date? Or, do you want to come with me to my flat?" he questioned with a naughty look. And at that moment, Toni's view suddenly changed, which was the reason why she took a step backward away from him. "Okay, stop right there. I am not going anywhere alone with you. Actually, I have a lot of things to do so, I've gotta go," she said seriously, obviously avoiding him. "Hold up," he mentioned, and he grabbed her right arm to stop her from walking away from him. "You are not going anywhere. I showed you the other side of me so now, you have to come with me to show what's inside of you," he told in a cold tone of his voice. "No way. Let go of me. I said let go!" she immediately responded and angrily pulled her right hand from him. For a moment, they both stared at each other as if they were measuring who was stronger between them. "Try to touch me again and I am going to make sure that you will not see the sunshine tomorrow. Don't dare me," she threatened him, and she pulled away from his grip. She then left without looking back at him. After what happened, Toni entered her car immediately because somehow she was afraid of what he did. She clenched her teeth because of that. "What a day. I feel terrible. I am not going in any date ever again," she told herself and then, she started the engine to leave the place quickly —— IT was late at night when Toni got home, she was greeted by the maid to give her footwear and she gives her stilettos in exchange which made her heave a relieved sigh since she's been wearing them all day. "Finally, my feet can relax," she said to herself, and she continued walking going to her room upstairs. On the other hand, when Loren heard noises, she immediately went out to see her daughter and when she left the room, she found her about to go up the stairs. But before she could go, she called her. "Toni, wait! I'm glad you're home. Can we talk for a minute?" Loren happily greeted her daughter, and quickly approached her to welcome her with a tight embrace. "Good evening, Mom. What about it?" Toni greeted back in a tiring sound of her voice while hugging her too. Loren then pulled from the hug, and they faced each other. "How's your day? Did you meet the guys that I arranged you up with?" she asked excitedly because she wanted to know if it went well or not for her daughter. "Don't even mention it, Mom. Come on," Toni replied angrily because just hearing it made her feel like she was going to throw up. "Why, what happened? Aren't they nice to you? You didn't meet a nice guy? A gentleman? Tell me, tell me," Loren pressured her daughter because she wanted to know if she had a good relationship on any of the man she met or not, just like what she did before. "A gentleman? Seriously, Mom? Well, I met a snob guy, a gamer, and an old fashion guy. Oh, and a pervert guy. Please, Mom, stop setting me up— with dates because honestly, I am not interested. How many times do I have to tell you? When will you stop arranging dates for me, for my goodness sake?" Toni annoyingly replied, unable to stop herself from expressing her true feelings without hurting her mother intentionally. She is just being true to her. "Toni, listen, your age is not on the calendar anymore. Please, have mercy on yourself. You just work, work, work! That's why no man is planning to date you or have a relationship with you because you are always busy with work. They are afraid of you. They are afraid to come to you because of your strong aura! Come on, Toni, have some life!" Loren preached her daughter again. "Mom, you want me to have some life? How about you let me be? Leave me alone. I am done with you telling me that I should get married. Aren't you tired? Because I AM tired of hearing from your mouth the words 'get married', 'I set up a date', 'you are getting older', and 'I want a grandchildren'. Mom, please, for once don't nag me. Okay? Good night. I'm going upstairs now and I am tired as hell," Toni responded in exhaustion, and continued to walk the stairs after letting her mother know what she really felt. Meanwhile, Loren gazed at her daughter, who seemed unmoved by what she said because, for her, she wanted to see her daughter have a life for once and not just work. ——— THE next day, the sun rose, when Toni went down to the dining table with a straight face and as she sat down, her parents noticed her. Loren and Warren looked at each other because they could sense something was not right with their only daughter. "Honey, are you alright?" Warren asked with concern while he is putting a napkin on his lap. "I'm just exhausted, Dad. Thank you for your concern," Toni answered softly, and she started eating without waiting for her parent's permission. "I know what that is. Don't tell me you are having menopausal syndrome early? I have read that woman who is having it mostly feels exhausted every time, has difficulty in sleeping, is very sensitive, has anxiety, and has problems with memory and concentration. Just like I had," Loren suspected, suddenly worried because of what she found out about signs of menopausal. "What? And, where did you know that?" Warren asked his wife curiously because of what he just heard. "I've read books. And according to the doctors, the signs of menopausal are—" Loren replied to her husband but, she stopped speaking when she heard a chair that is being pushed. Both Warren and Loren looked at their daughter who suddenly stood up from her chair. "I've had enough! I'm leaving this house and you're not going to see me again if you're going to continue to act like that. I need peace for Pete's sake," Toni boldly announced, and she gave her parents a straight look before she walked out and left them. "Toni, go to the doctor at least! Have your uterus checked! It's better to be early than sorry!" shouted Loren who still advised her daughter even though what she did was wrong by leaving them in front of the dining table. But, Toni just rolled her eyes while walking away. "You are pushing yourself too much, Loren. Way to go to ruin her morning," Warren commented to his wife, and he started eating without waiting since she ruined their morning too. To be continued...
