THALINA’S POV The moment the King stepped into the sparring ring, the air tightened around me and I had trouble breathing. My wolf stirred, snarling from deep inside, claws scraping wanting to come out. It wanted to scratch his face and to rip his chest open apart. Sensing the murderous intent of my wolf, I forced it to stay locked inside me and swallowed hard against the tension in my chest. “Come in now, Thalina,” the lycan king commanded, his authoritative voice rolling across the hall like thunder as he threw me his wooden stick to which I readily caught with my one hand.
