I always wanted to address him ‘Señor’ although he wanted me to call him ‘dad,’ because this was my way of showing politeness and utmost respect for all the goodness he had shown me and the helping hand he extended when I was at the point of my life that I thought I was already hopeless and there was no longer a chance for light because all I was seeing was just pure darkness.
