"Shopee delivery po maam"
My eyes grew big as soon as I recognized the voice. Bakit siya ang sumagot? Pero it looks like he could hear me think "Both my business and private numbers, ako ang may hawak. Bakit parang takang taka ka dyan" he sounded so sarcastic! Malay ko ba
"Mr. Bustamante-"
"Jolo"
"What?"
"Call me Jolo, Fiona" he uttered
I sighed "Okay, Jolo. I want to set an appointment sayo. Anytime is fine. I just want to tell you something important"
I know he is super confused right now. Kahit naman siguro sino diba. Pero bahala na. For the sake of my son. "Uh sige. You can come sa office ko tomorrow lunch time" I checked my planner to see if may naka schedule ba ako by lunch time and I smiled when I saw I was free during that time.
"Okay. I will go there tomorrow 1pm" I hanged up. Kinapa ko ang dibdib ko. My heart is beating faster than usual. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I know. I know I still love him.
I woke up feeling a bit nauseous, siguro dahil kinakabahan ako? Ewan bahala na. I took a bath and did my routine. I immediately heard my son talking with his grandparents the moment I was walking down the stairs.
"Good morning" I greeted. Agad naman ako nilingon ng anak ko at nilapitan ako. "Mommy! Good morning! I was talking with lolo and lola! I showed them this!" he showed me his father's handkerchief. I nodded and smiled at him.
"Fiona, can we talk?" I heard my mom, agad naman ako lumapit sa kanya "Yes mom?" she looked at me with worry evidence in her eyes. I smiled and held her hand "I will talk to Jolo today mom" she sighed and nodded. Hindi na nag abala pa na mag tanong.
"Hello!" we heard someone squelled near the door "Lola Rose!" bumaba naman kaagad sa upuan ang anak ko at dinalo ang kanyang Lola. Ever since that incident, always na bumibisita si Tita Rose dito sa bahay. She always assured me na hindi alam ni Jolo ang tungkol kay Zylex which made me feel at ease.
"Ang dami nanaman ng binili mo Rose!" galit na saad ni mommy sa kaibigan, agad naman tumawa ni Tita kay mommy "Hayaan mo na nga ako Alena. Wala kang duty ngayon sa Hospital?" I took my bag at nag paalam na ako sa kanila.
"Fiona, hija" I heard Tita Rose called me. Agad naman ako huminto sa pag lalakad at nilingon siya. "Jolo mentioned earlier, magkikita daw kayo mamaya?" she smiled at me. That bastard! Napaka mama's boy talaga!
I sighed and looked up at her "Yes po. I am actually planning to tell him about Zylex" she looked shocked, but happiness was evident in her eyes. Agad niyang kinuha ang kamay ko "He is going to be happy. Thank you, Fiona"
"Bruha, saan ka mag lalunch?" agad ko tinapunan ng tissue si Emily pero naka ilag ang bruha "I have an appointment with Jolo mamayang 1pm" she looked at me as if nagkaroon ako ng isa pang ulo. "Bruha ka Fiona Alyssa! 12:30 na!" I chuckled
"Kaya nga nag aayos na ako ng bag hindi po ba?" she rolled her eyes at me. I was about to leave my office when Emily called me "Fiona"
"Hmm?"
She smiled at me and hugged me tight "You are so brave. I wish you and Zylex all the best. Good luck bruha. Uwi mo na 'yang baby daddy mo" agad ko naman hinila ang buhok niya "Arte mo, Emily" she just raised her eyebrow at me and we both laughed.
I parked my car at the parking lot of Jolo's building. I was hesitant to to go out at first pero I remembered my son. Para kay kay Zylex ang lahat ng ito. Kaya mo yan Fiona! Kayanin mo para sa anak mo.
"Hi. I have an appointment with Mr. Bustamante" I gently smiled at the receptionist pero agad naman niya ako tinaasan ng kilay. Aba't! Bruhang ito!
"Name?" I mentally rolled my eyes. Masyado pang maaga Fiona. Huwag mo na patulan. "Attorney Fiona Alyssa Smith" I proudly said pero this girl did not even budge sarap pakainin ng stiletto
"Your appointment with Jolo was at 1pm. It is already 1:20pm. You are 20 minutes late" she smirked at me. Shuta ka! Malay ko ba kung saan ang opisina ng lalakeng to! Tagal pa mag reply ni Alexis sa akin kanina.
"Yes I know I am late. Pero you can call him and tell me that I am here now" I bit my cheek to suppress my anger. Sarap talaga supalpalin ng babaeng ito.
She rolled her eyes and started dialing the phone. "Hello? Yes. A certain, Fiona Smith is here. Should I tell her to go up? Okay"
"Huwag ka na daw tumuloy. You are late naman kasi hindi mo masisisi si Jolo. He is a busy man after all" I just want to rip that smirk off her face. I texted Jolo's number, I don't know why pero iba talaga ang pakiramdam ko sa babaeng ito.
nasa baba ako. ayaw ako papasukin ng receptionist mo
I silently sat down sa mga couches nila and waited. Hindi ko alam kung kanino ako nag hihintay pero I still waited. I busy ranting sa gc namin nila Alexis and Stephanie.
Fiona Alyssa: Nakaka bwesit! Akala mo naman maganda!
Stephanie Lilian: Gaga kalmahan mo nga baka masira poise mo!
Fiona Alyssa: Si Alexis kasi ang tagal mag send ng location
Soliel Alexis: Ay hayop ako pa ang sinisi. Malay ko ba na agad agad ka pupunta
"Fiona"
I was about to reply when I felt someone standing in front of me agad naman ako tumingala para makita kung sino ang nasa harapan ko.
"Jolo"
"Bakit hindi ka umakyat?" nagtatakang tanong niya. I wanted to scream at his face pero I kept my cool. We walked pass by the receptionist kaya bigla akong huminto. "Why did you stop?"
"Paano naman ako makaka akyat if your beloved receptionist did not allow me? She even called your office kanina, and said na umuwi nalang daw ako" I know I look like a kid na nag susumbong pero bahala sila.
He looked at the receptionist and mukhang napahiya naman ito. "I did not receive any call kanina. Felicia is it true?" napakunot ang noo ko, bakit parang ang familiar ng name. Where have I heard that name before?
